Silverstein won the right to purchase this campus from the Walt Disney Company in a highly sophisticated structured transaction for $1.15 billion in 2018. The acquisition included a sale leaseback structure where Disney leased the buildings back through a certain date paying an above-market rent. The property included many different buildings which comprised most of the block from 66th Street to 67th Street running from Columbus Avenue almost all the way to Central Park West. In addition, there were two buildings on 66th Street and West End Avenue that were also part of the acquisition.
